Friend bought this one for $200. 35Km on it. New battery and charger came with. PO could not get it to start.

Required tools for repair. Thumb.

Thumb to push the kill switch to on position and then press start button. :roll:

Then proceeded to make a victory 4km cruise and after change to full sythetic oil and final drive gear oil.

PO had a bit of a wreck it seems with the plastic.

100+ MPG for $200?

Thumb is good. Scooter loaded on the ranger for delivery tomorrow.

Owner will take care of the cosmetics. I did the mechanical work. :lol:

I wonder if the original owner used his thumb to get to work after the scooter wouldn't start.

Good repair job, Allen! :lol: I hate to say this, but I think a lot of newbies don't know about the existence, let alone the operation, of the kill switch. ;)

They are all about the same under the plastic.

I noticed that the physical sizes of the scooters seem to vary a lot.

I found the TNG LS49 two-stroke last night- would be very tempted to spend the extry $$ and get it, but it turns out that it's a very small scoot!

Right now I'm trying to get a hold of the place I intend to buy from, as there appears to be a difference in size between the two Taotaos I'm considering, and I want to be sure I get the one that is bigger...... (Probably would reject the LS49 even if it were bigger, because it doesn't seem to use universally-available parts like the TT)

I noticed that the physical sizes of the scooters seem to vary a lot.

There really, under the plastic, seems to be 2 sizes. Small (about 5' 5" overall), and large (just over 6' overall), the difference between an "easy fit" in a 6' Ranger box, and a "slam".

The smaller ones are lighter, and are a bit better at ripping around town on.... the bigger ones, well, I don't know what the bigger ones are good for, you are kidding yourself if you think you are heading out on the highway, likewise, hauling a passenger can be a challenge.

I have a 5' Yamaha, and a 6' lump here, and the Yamaha is a lot more "fun" than "the barge".

If you are 6 foot tall you may feel cramped on a smaller scoot too.

That's what I'm worried about- I'm 6'/215 lbs. Don't want to feel like I'm on a 3 year-old's tricycle!

I am 5"10" and on that yellow one I felt a bit cramped. You can push back and sit more on the rear of the seat.

Hard to tell from the "dimensions" on Chinese stuff....ya know? So far, one dealer told me this is bigger...

And I haven't been able to get a hold of provenpowersports on the phone at all...so may look elsewhere to buy....

I really wish there was a place I could just go and see 'em in person. Buying Chinese is like playing with a jack-in-the-box...you don't know what's gonna show up. The dealers half the time don't even know....the mfg. changes things and doersn't even tell 'em.
