New-ish Kiwi/Aussie rider
Hi all , kinda new here, have had alot of help from this forum with rebuild zong 230
owned and ridden a few bikes since my teens, mostly Hondas XR & Cbr's, kids are a bit older now so getting back into bikes, with 2 kids in private school don't leave much $$ for dad and his toys. reluctantly my only option was starting out again with these cheap China bikes. after the rebuild of the Z 230 I was so impressed with it, I got another 230 for a spare, then got a nc250 watercooled mx and also bought my wife a Apollo 150cc , bang for buck these are unreal, im getting a bit of stick from rest of my family about riding china bike(bsa/triumph, bmw,ktm-riders) but im more than happy with them cheers Franco |
Hey, we're all "cheapos" here. Relax! This is a safe place... :D:D:D
Plus, Beemer and "big KTMs" riders are the "Harley bikers" of the adventure community, i.e. all show, but no go. And they're definitely overcompensating for "something" :D |
Saw where the base tiger adv bike starts at $11500. Hell of a ride though, but no gas money left after its paid for.

The nc250 is around the other side of the house in bits Here's the red army & yellow peril |
It looks like the red bike has a stainless header. Nice machine.
I have a bike much like your yellow bike; I discovered that the frame is virtually identical to an early twin-shock XR200. Even the shock mounts are still there on mine, and they're used to mount the carrying rack. |
Yeah 1st ever bike was the twin shocker xr200 good bike & still going, 150 needs a bit of work, its been sitting for a few years, carb is so gummed up i just ordered another one for $20, all the rubbers and plastics on it have hardened up, the guy i got it from couldn't figure out why speedo not working, cos hes put the front wheel & shocks around the wrong way lol,the red 1 is a great bike awesome on the tight kangaroo trails on the Ridgeline, that 230cc makes good usable power, my wife is getting to her wits end im looking at a quad 150cc this weekend for the kids,
