Zongshen Sierra oil leek or not ?

Hi
Im regularly changeing my oil in my zongshen, every 3 months or 4 000km. Every time i put 1 liter of oil. Today i replaced oil after 3 months of riding. When i was changeing oil i noticed that there was smaller amount of old oil (<1 L). So i took the old oil and put it in plastic bottle with measure scale, and it was only 0.9 L of oil. So my question is, is it normal to loose 0.1L oil in three months of riding (about 3 000km) ?

Sorry for bad english
Thanks

I would say you are doing really good. These little engines are worked hard so a small amount of use like that over 3-4K kms is pretty low. I tend to change every 1-2K kms. I run mine hard and will see alittle bit of oil use in that time.

Max, your English is excellent! :) I always enjoy reading your posts.

Is your Zongshen 200GY-2 still running well? How many miles have you traveled on it so far?

Spud :)

If I remember correctly, someone else had a similar problem with their speedometer. The needle was loose on the shaft it rides on. Maybe a little glue to secure it again?

I opened the speedometer, here is what i found :( , a small light bulb 5W inside the speedometer generated too much heat has melted the odometer plastic numbers. So i recomend you to replace the regular bulb with LED one before it happens to you.

Wow! Over ten thousand miles and the Zong is still running strong! :D I agree, Max, for its price the Zongshen 200GY-2 is an excellent little bike.

Thank you for posting the tip concerning the melted odometer wheel! I believe my Zong speedometer was originally illuminated by two, 3-watt incandescent bulbs. However, after they burned out I replaced them with two LED bulbs. In addition to being cooler, the LED bulbs I purchased are brighter and much more resistant to the harsh vibration I encounter when riding in the dirt. I got my LEDs from the following vendor:

My speedometer uses wedge base bulbs. Therefore, I bought the WLED-W4 bulbs, and I love them. :D

Spud :)
