Here is a little trail riding I found at a county park. Horse trails and not supposed to be there i think but the new ride is super quiet and no one around last Saturday morning. Firs time I had to ride it since I bought it the previous weekend. Learning the feel of the 475 lbs. It's an awesome ride.

Showed it off at the Fire Dept. meeting and got some puzzled looks :lmao:. Most of the folks around here don't know what to make of anything other than a Harley Davidson . Just told them adv is a whole different world. And yes, it will MOVE OUT. :yay:

Great bike. That 650 V-twin punches way above its weight.

Is is said to have about 73hp. 60 changes to the engine since the last generation. I've been getting 46mpg according to the display console on it. Have been keeping it around 5k rpm but am coming up on 600 mile service. Need to go find filters at walmart i think .

Ahh yes the so called "Weestrom" as it is the little brother of the two bikes... So want to get one of the bigger versions one day

A buddy has ridden his all over the US. Even did the Trans-Wisconsin Adventure Trail (TWAT) on street tires.

Truth is, never paid attention..weird name anyway...either way , I'm convinced

or 7- tenths quicker in the 1/4 mile and a top speed of about 125 MPH vs 115 MPH for the DL650.

Weight and higher price?... Not so much.

Never been the sharpest tool in the shed, just the more reliable one.

The battax tubeless stick like glue. Has a pretty long wheelbase . Has handled all my usual gravel roads but obviously not throwing it around like the ol bashan:hehe:

Is said to be 85% street bike . Most of Texas is long stretches of highway, rest is private property.

Just caught this...Congrats on the new ride!! If there is one bike for my bucket list ride down through Mexico, Central and South America, it is either the VStrom 650 or, more recently since its introduction in the US, the Zongshen RX3. If I had my way, I would get both--I would be leaning towards the VStrom for US long distance travel (i.e., if I don't move to California, heck, if I move, exploring Arizona) and the RX3 for shorter trips that the VStrom might seem too heavy to deal with. I worked and lived in Northern AZ on the Navajo reservation, and the RX3 would be great to ride on the smaller roads, as well as the numerous dirt roads which beat the heck out of my Roadmaster. If I move to California, I could see taking the VStrom to Vegas for weekend getaways rather than fighting the crowds at L.A. or Burbank airports.

Your right, it's heavy and about to put on a little more with the farkles i ordered but I am gaining more confidence with every ride and its becoming more natural. Quite a bit of difference from the bashan 286 lb to the 474lb. It was expensive but i wznted something i could streatch its legs out on the long wide open texas roads. Holds 75mph wind or not with more on tap. Did an off road steep 1 gear climb today and starting loosing power only to discover i left the traction control on high which is no dam good especially when you need it the most. (Not too sure tc is realy worth much)

For simplicity, I am actually thinking of the Lifan KP200 (non-fairing). Let's see how my new job goes in California--supposed to begin Jan. 8...
