Chinese 2-stroke 50cc Good?

Hey ChinaRiders,

Anybody got experience with the Vento Zip 2-strokes or the Strada or the Adley or the TNG LS49 ?

I heard they're all made by the same Chinese factory.

Are they good? I also am looking at a Buddy 50 at a dealership, but it is almost $1000 more than the other bikes named above. But Buddy has real dealership support. I know Buddys are made in Taiwan. But is the Buddy $1000 better?

That depends. Do you need a dealer to do repairs for you? Is a real warranty important?

If not then go Chinese and spend the $1000 on mods and gas. The Buddy will likely have a better resale and most likely hold up better. Alot of that depends on the owner.

I am not real familiar with the 2 stroke stuff. I would have no problem buying a 4 stroke GY6 variant.

There are a few Chinese 2-strokes, but none seem to be 'mainstream' Chinese brands, at least the new ones. Are Vento and Adly still in business? If it is important to get a 49cc due to licensing/registration, I do understand the allure of a 2-stroke, but right now, there are several 4 stroke GY6 bikes that I would consider--pretty much anything by TaoTao would be on my shopping list, Jonway scooters, SSR scooters, and BMS scooters would be my starting point. I am very, very partial to this particular TaoTao model (albeit in 150cc):

The allure of the 2-stroke 50cc is the light weight. They are 180-pounds dry.
They're a blast to ride. They don't keep up with traffic, but who cares.

The 150 4-strokes are over 220-pounds dry.

I thought 50cc 2-strokes have more power than their 4-stroke counterparts? These are offered through Roketa--maybe call them and see who retails any or all of them

One of our members bought a scooter from these guys; the same scooter as found on Roketa's site (which stresses dealers only). I believe powersportsbest.com is Roketa's retail division. Either way, 2 of Roketa's 2-stroke offerings (the link I posted above) are mail-ordered directly to consumers via here.

the buddy is nowhere near 1000 better, plus the maintenance and upgrades will cost much more, the tng ls49 is pretty good, i had one but ended up putting a 250 in it
