legal issues with selling bikes?

what are the legality issues involved in say buying a couple of the gy-5 from rabbit and then putting them together with some upgrades and selling them locally? anyone know?

I wouldn't know for sure, but I think you might have a problem with the MSO being in your name. You might end up having to pay tax in your state and getting a title then transfering it to the buyer. I think the tax would then eat up about half the profit. I could be wrong, just a thought...

damn...that sucks.

figures

You'd be selling them as used... I would expect to lose money.

Also a consideration, some states limit the number of titles you can transfer each year in order to keep individuals from becoming a "backyard dealer".

I think Ga is limited to 5 per year without a dealer license/number.

It's the same here, 5 per year. If you sell more than 5, you are supposed to have a dealer liscence and insurance. Not sure how it is in your state.

yeah God forbid someone make a buck. I'd just like to have one of these puppies sitting around with zero on the odometer and ready to sell to the next person who comes up and asks about my bike.
