Good score!
I encourage you to read Dave's thread on his PW50. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=13798 |
Very cool! Is it fully automatic?

I will be keeping an eye on this thread :)
I removed oiler off mine aswell was missing most pieces anyways Dave |
Yes is is fully automatic! I rode it around last night, it's way too fast! Haha. I found a place that makes an oiler block off plug I may buy.

Can you please describe to me how the fully auto engine works? Does it have internally shifting gears like a car transmission? Or does it just have one gear that you wind out at speed? Or does it have like a variable speed transmission cvt or whatever they call it? I just purchased a fully auto engine myself but I don't have it running yet. I'm concerned it is going to have one gear only and the bike will be screaming at top speed.

One gear. Wind ER out. There very quick for their size lol
I just took oil pump off and removed the gear. Block off plate is about 30 bucks isent it Dave |
yup one gear. its called a centrifugal clutch. same as gokarts and minibikes. it has clutch shoes that engage the flywheel based on engine speed.
yessir $30 is correct for that blockoff |
How loud does the engine get as it reaches top speed? At higher speeds does it feel torquey like in a lower gear? For instance does it feel anything like your stuck in second gear at higher speeds? I'm excited but I am also worried I'm not going to like the way it rides.

By the way the centrifugal clutch is a dry clutch correct? It does not get bathed in the engine oil, is this correct? Thanks
|
The engine is loud at top speed, but most coke with a silencer for the exhaust. Mine was missing. My carb was dirty so I didn't get to experience the full power band.
This centrifugal clutch is wet actually The pw50 was sold |
