electric scooters taking over downtown nashvegas

i have further read elsewhere that many cities across america are dealing with this too.

I hadn't hear of this issue before, but I can imagine it being a nuisance to step over scooters that are haphazardly parked on the sidewalk.

i didnt take notice until a person got hit by a car shown on the local nightly news. read more and found out many cities are trying to make sense of governing($) them somehow, only thing they dont tax is walking....lol. it seemed to be a great idea to get around outrageous parking fees and no gas tax.
cost way too much to spend time downtown nashville without ride share. so maybe the conspiracy theory is ride-share companies lobbying to rid them.... who knows ....they blame nuisance being on sidewalks but i think its $ by government and ride-share companies loosing revenue...at a rapid pace.
metropolitan nashville actually attempted to require by law to wear knee pads helmets and elbow pads while on these to detour the use of them but totally outlawed them in the end($50 fine each day found), at least until they draft $ laws from scratch.

In NYC they are over the place! Almost all deliveries are made on one if not the electric bicycle. So many of them get hit by cars because they don't respect traffic laws or pedestrian traffic. In the city if used for delivery the restaurant is responsible if any accidents occur and they have to have the drivers use proper safety equipment like hi vis best helmets and lightning

They are here in Dallas, Last Sunday we had our first fatality. Here is the link to the story.
