Shutoff Valve Issue

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

With my LF200GY-2 Moto, I took off the carb and going to install a newer style carb, when I did this I made sure the shut off valve for my gas was in the proper position (OFF) . When I disconnected the rubber hose, I noticed that I am getting a small leak (drip) every 3 seconds on the off position. I tried to turn it left and right slowly to see if it would stop.. It doesn't stop.

I will show you a picture of my shut off valve.
If anyone could help me figure out how to solve this problem please let me know. I was told a couple of options like

1. Buy a shut off valve ON / OFF and connect to to the Rubber Hose.

If there is anything else I should know, please help me solve this leakage:)

Thanks!

Inside the valve itself is a round rubber washer with 4 holes in it. That washer (often called a packing) is damaged and can be replaced but with the low price of a new petcock it's easiest to just replace it.

I agree that it's easy to repair the valve. If the valve is corroded inside, it's also easy (and cheap) to replace the entire valve. I would not add another valve inline.

Valve

The Valve that I have Petcock they call it I guess.
Is this valve here,

http://www.hooperimports.com/popup_z...tcock&imgidx=1

The valve does not come with screws so I can replace the seals, unless anyone else knows how to do it. The other problem I noticed is that the little screen filter is ripped. The screen is at the bottom of the Petcock that little screw I unscrewed seen that there is a almost like Needle point Plastic piece.

Would anyone know of a better quality Petcock that would fit this bike?
Something that I can change the seals in overtime when it wears out?

Thanks

I think that one is intended for Harleys.

I think this would fit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Scoote...67d7cb&vxp=mtr

It has screws that will allow you to rebuild it in the future.

Awesome.

Are you like 100% sure it will fit on the gas tank.
Is there away I can find out measurements to be certain it will fit properly.

I don't want to waste my money on something that will not fit.
It looks like it will fit. The measurements that the original one is, does it give us the right measurements.

hmmmmm thanks Weld for finding this piece.

Did you send that Tail light yet?
Let me know if you need the info again.

Weldangrind 11-24-2014 10:46 AM

I am not 100% sure. I have no way of being that sure.

I have not sent the taillight yet.

Thank you,

Im not to sure on how to buy this item using this site, but how much is 4-5 whatever dollars those are. How much is that Canadian for that item. That is the exact same Petcock as the one I have now. So if its a lot cheaper it will save me a lot of money.

Thank you so much

If you're buying one single item, then eBay is a better deal. If you're looking to stock up on several items, hit Taobao.

Diggy 11-27-2014 01:49 PM

I cant find that item on ebay

The item on tabo I can not find.
I believe its a lot cheaper then the one I bought.
