would chain and sprocket cause my vibration?????
Would a worn chain and sprocket cause the vibration issues that I've detailed here?
http://www.chinariders.net/modules.p...ewtopic&t=3470 The dealer apparently ordered a chain and sprocket and says there is nothing wrong internally with the engine. Which is good news, but I don't understand why the bike would be howl when it is cold and then as it warms up develop the vibration I described and this situation is attributable to a chain and sprocket problem. I obviously have ALOT to learn. |
Thats good news zapkin, but didn't yousay when you pushed the clutch in it didn't vibrate? You would think if it were the chain/sprocket it would do it all the time? :?

I replaced my chain/sprockets before the engine swap to - made no difference.
If you're moving down the road, pull in the clutch and the vibrations stop - it's a tranny issue pure and simple. In my case the vibrations became worse as the bike warmed up. My dealer questioned whether it was the tranny to - at first. So I let him have the bike for a few days to determine what the 'true cause' was. He couldn't find anything else to explain it. By that time I had already swapped out the sprockets et al. |
how many miles/kms do you have on it
|
600 kilometers and that is correct..when i pull in the clutch the vibes disappear. i don't think they are taking my issue seriously at all. i guess time will tell..but it is 51 and sunny today and I want my darned bike back!

yeah frostbite your situation sounds pretty much exactly like mine.
|
I agree with frostbite. I don't see how the chain and sprockets would be the cause since the you had the clutch pushed in and besides with 600 km your even the cheap factory chain and sprockets should still be in decent shape. It sound to me like the dealer is hoping for a quick fix.

not so much quick but cheap.

UPDATE:
I just talked to the people at the shop. They said the folks in texas think there is a possibility my sprocket was not round and there was a kink in the chain somewhere. They should have the parts by monday and I reckon I'll have the bike back next week sometime. Man I hope this fixes the problem.... |
keep your fingers crossed and i hope that fixes your problim
