How does the battery get recharged on my bike?
Quick question... my battery is at the back of the bike. The battery pretty much does what on my bike? Im guessing its only for the starter? and also how does my battery get re-charged? If I put a light switch and light in the front and rear will this run my battery dry?
Thanks |
Your bike has a stator that generates power and charges the battery. It should have enough to keep the battery charged while running lights.

Thanks a lot, so its called a Stator.. what's it look like? I have some kind of metal piece that looks like a heat sink on a computer CPU.. Is that the stator?

That's the regulator/rectifier/converter. The stator is on the left lower side of the engine, behind the round(ish) cover. Simplistic scheme:

Great, thanks for visualizing it with picture.

Most of the time of the bike runs, but the battery does not charge it is the regulator/rectifier or the heat sink looking thingy.
