The tractor seat will allow you to place the seat exactly where it suits you. That would be an excellent upgrade.

The CT200U has been laquishing in my garage since I purchased a 2018 KYMCO Spade. However, all the parts have arrived for the mini bike and the Predator engine. I hope to get it finished up this week. We have a couple of nice days left and I picked up a new welding helmet yesterday. Should be able to get the frame finished and hopefully painted tomorrow, after a doctors appointment in the morning. A Trail Tech killswitch that I had, resurfaced in my garage. It will now go on the Coleman. My focus is to just get it running and of course, being able to ride it this Winter. The front suspension and tractor seat will have to wait a little longer.

Ok, finally a few pictures. The frame is straight and welded. A few welds still need cleaned up a little. I welded a stiffener plate onto the bottom of the frame that will also hold the jackshaft. It’s coming together nicely and looks pretty good. If the rain holds off, I may get it finished tomorrow. Ran out of daylight today. After the finishing sanding I’ll get some new red paint on it.

The Predator Hemi engine will be the next thing to tackle. This engine is going to make some serious lowend torque. The header and Mikuni carb will wake this engine up.

Today, I tested the fitment of the forks from my Fox Thunderbolt on the CT200U. They fit perfectly. The spacing of the brackets was as good as the stock forks. The swing arm and top clamp mounts will need to be cut in half to make them wide enough for the CT200U front wheel. I have several pair of shocks that mount to the forks. Not sure which I will use. I will cut the fork brackets and make them wider with .25” flat plate. It will be bolted and welded together for strength.

The Fox forks are made with 1” diameter tubing. I have several pieces of 1” to use on it. The front axle on the Coleman is 15mm. Thankfully, the Fox axle is smaller and a 19/32” bit will fix that. Everything looks good to move forward with this modification. A few pieces of hardware need to be sourced to mount the handlebars. I recently bought a set of BMX handlebars because they were a little higher. My tractor seat has also arrived.

Not a lot has been done but it’s getting closer. I ordered a Tillotson carburetor and a few other parts today. The CT will also get a Walbro fuel pump. Stay tuned, more soon.

This is getting interesting... now where is my popcorn!?

The tractor seat that I originally purchased did not really work well on the CT200U. I called GoPowersports and they are sending me a better seat that was made in India, for a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The hardware from the first seat is fine and will be used with the new seat. The seat is flatter and has much better padding.

The Tillotson carb and some new parts arrived yesterday. New fuel lines, black exhaust wrap, stainless clamps, air filter, carb adapter and some filter covers will get me moving forward. I hope to get a few things accomplished if the weather holds out. More to come soon.

Today, I started working on the CT200U minibike again. Most of it is completed enough to ride. I hope to do that tomorrow. The frame is basically done. The smaller Kohler engine is just for testing and troubleshooting any major problems. The seat, front suspension and Hemi engine will be added to the bike as I finish them.

I also ordered bigger tires for it.

Yes, I have ALL the go fast parts from GoPowersports.com. However, I have decided not to use them on this bike. I have another mini bike that might be a better candidate. My CT200U will be more of a utility bike for me. It needs lights and a way to keep people from just taking it if they find it in the woods, while I’m hunting. There is not a whole lot left to do to it but I have decided to add electric start and a charge coil. The ARC billet flywheel and Mikuni carb that I purchased will not go on this Predator engine. I’m still waiting on the new ignition to arrive. The ARC billet connecting rod will still go in it, to increase reliability. A few other things have changed as well. A 4-cell Antigravity battery and a Tillotson carburetor are now being used on it. The last parts to come in are new brake cables. Due to the increased wheelbase, a longer (83.5”) rear cable and a shorter (46”) front cable are on the way. The planned suspension will have to wait until Winter. I’ve been working on other projects and have neglected this one. It’s time to finish it up. I will post pictures soon.

The CT200U is turning out better than I had hoped.
