Jianshe Flywing MX 100

Hello everyone...thanks for welcoming me to your forum.

I recently bought a Flywing MX 100...my first dirt bike purchase for my son. It was used but taken care of and in good condition. However, I can't get it to spark. It turns, but no fire. Hopefully someone out there can point me in the right direction to troubleshoot and get this bike running for my son.

Does anyone know where I can find a service or owner's manual online? Also, are there any sites that carry replacement parts? In searching the web, I read that the Flywing parts are interchangeable with Honda...but I'm not certain of that. Is this true?

Thank you for your time and any assistance that you may be able to provide us.

I would start with a replace sparkplug and CDI. The flywing 100 looks like a a horizontal honda clone. Parts are cheap and plentiful.

I was going to ask too, did it run when you bought it or did you buy it not running?

Welcome!

If that's the bike I'm thinking of, I know it well. It's a Yamaha PW80 frame with a Honda horizontal engine. A very good mix. The only problem we had with our version was the airbox; it was positioned right in front of the rear wheel, and it quickly packed with mud. We fixed that with a 45 degree intake tube and a K&N style filter. The exhaust pipe on ours was copied from the PW80 two-stroke design, which was just awful. We bolted an XR50 pipe up to it, and it woke right up.

On to your son's bike. Test the two wires that power the coil with a test light, and confirm that there is power while kicking. If there is, then either the coil, the coil wire or the plug boot have failed. Very common.
