08 roketa buggy cdi issues

I have a roketa buggy that has the 260 CC engine and I lost sparking it. I replaced the coil, plug, stater, voltage regulator, and cdi box. Everywhere I've looked it says an 8 pin cdi box but not what rpm it is. The first cdi box I used would get the engine to POp but not start, so I found a cdi box that had a 7500 rpm spec and lo and behold the bigger started right up. Finally I thought, well it ran for a couple of minutes and when I went to take it for a spin I backed up ten feet and it died.. blew cdi box. Any insight would be very helpful thanks.

Is it an AC or DC CDI?

Possible short in wiring. Just start tracing all wires in and out of the cdi box until you find a burnt one touching something it shouldn't. Sometimes it actually helps to get your head in there and sniff around to find the burnt wiring.

So I guess my question then would be, which is the right cdi box for this engine.. I've tried three different 8 pin types with no luck, and I knw for sure its the cdi box.

Are there reliable DC source to CDI? BAD battery: The voltage after E-starting may drop to a level that CDI won't accept...
What's the peak voltage of pickup? Low reading indicates the gap btw flywheel isn't right... http://chinariders.net/showpost.php?...1&postcount=17
