My awesome windshield from Thailand!

I ordered an aftermarket windshield from a fabricator in Thailand. I found him on the RX3 Zongshen Owner's group on facebook and his name is Winyoochanok.

Well, it came in today and it's awesome. This guy does amazing work!

Here are some pics of the windshield. It's about 6 inches taller than the stock windshield and an inch or two wider on each side.

I took a 75 mph ride after installation and it does a great job throwing the air over my helmet. The ride is a lot quieter and more comfortable than with the stock one.

The new windshield is made from optically correct acrylic and is a light smoke color. It's gorgeous! It arrived in perfect condition with no fogging, scratches or cracks and with nice smooth edges. Look at the comparison. The new windshield is so much clearer. So easy on the eyes!

Of course, there is a potential downside. Many aftermarket windshields focus light onto the dash, melting or warping it. The smaller size and optical distortion of the stock windshield would reduce or eliminate this effect. Of course, there's no way to know if that will happen here, but I will keep an eye on it.

A note about installation. The new windshield only has four mounting holes and mounts to the four front bolts, ignoring the two side ones. The side mounting holes look a little bare, so I might put the bolts back in just for looks.

The new windshield doesn't come with any mounting hardware, which is fine. It was drilled with the same spec holes as stock and the stock hardware fits perfectly. The windshield also follows the same curves as stock and mounts with no gaps.

I took it for a ride at 75 mph and there was very little vibration. It threw the air most of the way over my head, as opposed to the stocker that dumped air on my shoulders. Very comfortable.

I was pleasantly surprised how quick the package arrived. I ordered it on 10/23/15 and the guy said it could take 60 days. But it only took two weeks :)

He packaged the windshield very well and it arrived in perfect condition. It came in a plastic sleeve and was double-wrapped in bubble wrap. This was wrapped in cardboard and then shipped in a large box. I'm very happy with how it arrived.

Overall, I highly recommend this windshield. At US $42 + $42 shipping (to my ZIP), it's a great value.

The windshield looks really nice. Thanks for posting the excellent photos and the initial ride report. We also enjoy hearing reports of good customer service. :) Please do keep us updated regarding the durability of this windshield, and any adverse effects on the digital dashboard. ;)

I've never heard that term. Does it mean that there is no parallax error?

Well there is some parallax, but the thickness of the acrylic is uniform, so it doesn't look wavy. The stock windshield has a lot of distortion if you look through it, but the new one does not.

That should help with a few MPH on the top end without any need to tuck, I would imagine. I'd almost be tempted as well.
