CDI for HSUN HS400ATV-2
2 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know where I could find a cdi for hisun atv, specifically HSUN HS400ATV-2, year 2007 and vin LWGZCSL0X7A080983?
The problem is that when you accelerate hard, the engine dies off and/or starts banging. At a steady speed everything is fine. The fault is more likely to occur when the engine is warm. The repair shop thought it might be caused by the CDI, but doesn't know where to find one for this model, especially here in Estonia, where is no any HSUN dealers :) |
If you mean banging as in back firing through the carb, It more than likely needs the valves adjusted. Once the engine warms up, the valves are probably not fully seated due to lack of valve clearance.

Definitely get the valve adjustment dispensed with. It's easy and you can rule that out. Jerry is spot on there.
In addition, you might try some rejetting once the valves are adjusted. First ride it for a few days and see how that affected the engine. Then just try a minor jetting or needle height, or airscrew change and see if it improves or gets worse. If it is basically running OK, these fine tuning issues on the carb can be hard to pinpoint. If these things don't help, do some testing. A replacement CDI is cheap, and you could simply try a new one. Also, maybe connect a timing light to it and shoot the F line in the timing window. See if you get consistent firing and see if it's lining up cold/hot. |
Thanks you for the advice. I also found the HSUN European dealer website, www.hisun-motors.com But unfortunately they announced that they don't produce CDI's for this model anymore, so I have to look for a used one :)

Thanks guys, I got new cdi from here: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07C8G51JM/...1_TE_SCE_dp_i1
And everything was ok in first ride after changing cdi, but unfortunately the fun was quite short. After first ride the electricity disappeared, the posts about it is here: https://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=34244 |
