My kids 125's
 

I think these would be considered pit bike!? I bought these in Dec 05.
I recently got them put together and running quite well. On my last test
lap of the backyard I picked up a roofing nail (left from the crummy
contractors that built my garage) in the front tire of one of them. I
removed and tried to patch the tube but it didn't work. I went to the
local dealership and got one for $8. Now both kids are once again happy.
Although I can't keep them here long enough to actually teach them to
ride. They both have a manual clutch setup. I figured if I'm gonna teach
them I would do it right. Autos are for littler kids. Here's a couple of pics

I got out last Saturday evening with my son and taught him how to use
the manual clutch on his bike. This is his very first bike. It took him about
ten to fifteen minutes to catch on. He did stall it a few times and almost
pulled a couple of wheelies but he caught on pretty quick. He rode it
around our back yard for about a half hour. I was real proud of him.
I tried to talk my daughter into learning to ride hers but she wasn't up
to it. Maybe one day soon. I took a couple of vids of my son riding his

I took and got my son out on his bike again yesterday. Here's a video of him. I made him work on shifting from 1st to 2nd. Kinda hard to do in our little yard. Wish I had bought these at my previous house. Two acres out in the country. We're gonna try and go to my brother in laws parents land (45 acres) this weekend. Will update if it happens. :)

I got today and adjusted the carb on my sons bike. I took and moved the clip on the needle to the lowest or fifth from the top position. I also turned the air mixture screw out a turn and a quarter from the stock position. Man does it really run now. I took it up and down the street a couple of times to try it out on the uphill portion. Pulls very strong in all gears. It doens't stumble while accelerating anymore and very mildly pops while decellerating from WOT. I'm sure it could use a bigger main jet as with my GY. It will suffice for my sons purposes. Now I just need to do the same with my daughters. Maybe tomarrow. :)

Easy, That is too cool. Nothing better than father and son hobbies. I just ordered a Roketa 125cc for my 8year old. I thought about the auto clutch but figured he would have to learn sooner or later. He has a 90cc atv auto so I quess my 4 year old will inheirit that. I am an old dad so I need to get on this with them while I still can.

My 6 year old will soon get a quad to ride. I figure that 4 wheels is (in many, not all cases) better than 2 for now.

In my case it's father, daughter and son. :) Son has riden his many times over the summer. Could only get my daughter on hers once. She doesn't like the idea of the manual clutch. I guess in her case an auto would have been better. I just thought that teaching them the proper way to ride would be best. That way when they get older and decide they want a bigger bike I will have more confidence and less worry. Maybe next spring will be more productive. I need to get them out in an open area and let them go. I think they will like that better than the back yard. The best of luck with your kids.

That is cool. When my kids were that age I had a Polaris 400 and two acres of land. Used to ride them around the yard for hours at a time. They loved it. My nephew and niece have a 50cc four wheeler and enjoy it quite a bit. My nephew got a 50cc dirt bike for his last birthday. He loves it. Unfortunately my sister worries to death when he rides it. He fearless... :lol:

Bike stand...

I have been wanting to get stands for the kids bikes for a while now. That
way if mine was on my jack we could still work on theirs. Just didn't like the
idea of paying a lot of money for them. Everything x 2 adds up pretty quickly.
I had read on another forum of someone using a step stool for a stand. I
thought this may be an inexpensive way to achieve my want. I did try a five
gallon bucket but it just didn't work as well as I had hoped. Today I was at
Big Lots picking up a few necessity items and happened to notice a black
thick plastic step stool on top of a pile of top soil (imagine that). It looked as
if it would work well. I then proceeded to search the whole store in hopes of
finding another. After a thorough scan I came up empty handed. I figured
one would half to do. I finished my shopping and headed to the checkout.
Once there I just happened to look down and what do you know. Yes there
was another one. Woohoo! So for $14.00 I bought two of them. Got home
and took them out to the garage to try them out. Perfect fit. I can't believe
I was so excited over two plastic step stools. Here's a pic of the bikes on
they're new stands. :D The things I do for my kids... yes even when they
treat me lousy. :lol:

Those look perfect, so I think it's a trip to local Big Lots for me and see if I can get lucky -- I bought a little 70cc china pit bike last week that looks very similar to those.

That's cool. I hope you are able to find one. They work really
well. The tires are both a few inches off the ground in the pic.
I can move the bike forward for just the rear and to the rear
for just the front. Can't complain a bit. Congrat's on the new
purchase. These are pretty fun little bikes. I think most of
them use the same size frames with different cc engines.

Put a sticker on them and call them "Custom Pit Bike Stands". :wink:

Wait a minute...maybe I could do that and sell them on ebay for $20. Hmmmmm......
