How to embed Youtube videos in a post?
 

What is the process for embedding Youtube videos in a post? I've been trying to figure out for a while with no success. I've seen others do it, but can't do it myself.

Have you tired using the insert link button? Click on it and paste the address of your video in and it should stick ... at least mine do, using YouTube.

Thanks dpl, that works for adding a link. But I'm trying to find out how to embed it so that you see a youtube window in the comment and can click play to watch it inside the post.

If you scroll down to the bottom of this page the little box that says Posting Rules says HTML code is turned off. I beleive that is the problem.

Ok, it took me a while to understand the bbcode. So when I write my comment, I copy the URL from my youtube video ...

Then I take the last part of the URL and paste it between these tags, without the / in the first [/youtube] (I had to add it so it wouldn't embed the youtube link in my example) :)

and when I save, it becomes an embedded video. Thanks!

I don't use tags or code; I simply copy the URL and paste it into the message. Could be that it works because I'm using IE 11.0

Yep, all you have to do is paste the link, that's it. Don't have to put any code in.

Anyone else just getting a tall think black "bar" in place of embedded videos ?

I noticed in another thread that someone posted the window and it worked...and a week later it became a black bar.
This is all good. I'm trying to figure out how to do videos as we speak....
