That was a good read.

I think the internet marketing method and videos to help with maintenance are brilliant. You unpack and assemble it. You maintain it. You know the bike inside out.
All the hassles and expense associated with a motorcycle dealership are eliminated.
-Ordering from CSC is not for everybody, but it works great for a lot of people.

Good write up!

It will be interesting to see the proposed RX4 with a 450cc engine is going to come to North America.

Yea. I like the RX3 but the possibility of the RX4 coming here is the only thing keeping me from buying an RX3 right now. It seems to me the RX4 would be very popular here.

With no timetable updates in sight on the rx4 im getting discouraged. :ohno: I have been thinking about the upcoming yamaha 700 Tenere (yes I know, 10k bike but so much more than the rx4...depends on availability for both I guess)

I'm sure the RX4 will be much more expensive by the time it's perfected and meets European and U.S. emission laws. Plus I'm sure it will require a lot more corrections by the buyer for assembly errors and omissions! I'd wait for the 700 Tenere. I bet we'll be quite surprised by the minimal difference in selling price between the two bikes. :hmm:

I predict the CSC RX4 will go on sale in the US before the Genuine G400C. I'm not sure if that is an optomistic or pessimistic statement.

I believe you are probably correct! It's a lot easier for these manufacturers and distributors to talk about new products to soon be available to the public, and a whole lot harder to actually get the products to market.
It seems I've been reading about the G400C for years, and visiting and talking to my local motorcycle dealer who is signed up to be a local dealer/distributor. But it always seems to be a distant future date, if ever, when it will actually happen!
So I guess we'll just have to keep waiting for something to happen.

Be interesting to see if the Tenere makes it to the US this time...
Never could figger out why you never got the triplets...
XTZ 660 Tenere , XTR 660 Duel sport , XTX 660 Motard...

..

My feeling on the RX4 is that as long as they bring it in under the "stripped" competition, and INCLUDE bags, bars, trunk, etc...it will do just fine, especially with CSC's following and good reputation continuously getting around. I think you'll see some RX3 riders easily make the jump.

There will always be those naysayers about CB's and that's just fine by me. There are always those who just can't stand being outside the herd for fear of ridicule. All of my CB's have been very reliable and great for what I use them for.

If I ride an RX4 and feel the urge, I'll sell my RX3 for what I can get and upgrade. No qualms here.

Too expensive or if the price were right, no profit in it imho.

What were the production years of the 660. Perhaps they were in a era in the states where it was not the fad for these bikes. For instance, the rice burner or crotch rocket phase in the US in the 80s, I seem to remember a hot war between the jap bikes with those.
