110 Won't Start

Hello,
Was helping a neighbor with his 110. It was running fine last time out. Ran out of gas, put gas in it and kept riding fine for the day. Got it home and went to start it off the trailer and wouldn't start. It acted like it was going to but never cranked over (not sure that is the correct term). That's where our journey begins.

ATV is 4-5 years old only had oil changes. We figured it was the carb and picked up a new one and new spark plug. Bolted it on same issue. Made noise like it wanted to start but never did. We were messing with it for a while and then it wouldn't do anything. When you try to start it now it won't even made a sound. No clicking nothing. Battery is charged, tried the one out of my ATV as well. Nothing. Wondering if we fried the starter trying to start it or maybe the start switch on the handle bar went bad,? Right now trying to get it back to only my original problem but not certain how or where to start.

Any help appreciated. Sorry for any lack of knowledge explaining my issue.

After a few YouTube videos I tried screwdriver across solenoid and it revs but won't crank over. That eliminates starter issue correct?

Pull the spark plug, put it in the plug boot and hold the tip close to a bolt on the engine head. With the key ON and the parking brake ON, jump the solenoid with the screwdriver and see if you are getting spark to the plug.

I will try that. Thanks. I was getting spark prior to it completely going dead but will give this a try.

Just to clarify, it turns over but doesn't fire, correct?

You may want to check and see if you are getting 12V power to the starter button on the bars, and, from there, see if it is going to the solenoid when you push the button.

It has spark doing as you described. Currently using the switch on the bar it does nothing. Makes no noise at all.

My guess at this point is a bad starter button switch assembly. You can unplug it from the harness and match the assembly and the plug with one found here:

One last thing, also. Key ON, parking brake ON and rear wheels off the ground. Jump the solenoid again and see if the quad starts and runs. If so, you can probably use it until you get a new switch.

Thanks. I ordered a new switch from them. Hoping that's it. Thanks again.
