Roketa 200, can it be licensed in Oregon?

Anyone know if a 2005 Roketa 200 dual sport can be registered in Oregon? Just picked one up for $125.00, like new, 525 miles, never been registered. The number plate on the frame says it was manufactured by Zongshen and it has the CG200 non balance shaft engine.

If nobody chimes in, you will probably have to be the proverbial guinea pig to see if and how it is done. That is a great deal, btw!

I'll call the DMV tomorrow to see about getting it licensed. Couldn't afford not to buy it at that price. It's an RKM 200E5. If I can get it licensed I'll give it to my daughter who is an experienced rider. The seat is lower than my Lifan 200 so she should be able to put her feet on the ground.

I wish I could find deals like that. I hope you're successful in registering it.

SpudRider 11-02-2014 11:47 PM

That's a great deal. The DMV will give you the definitive answer; good luck. :) If you have time, please do post some photographs of the bike.

If necessary, you could try the Vermont route: http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=12368

I was just going to suggest the Vermont route as a backup plan.

Got the valves adjusted, oil changed, air filter serviced, tires filled, etc., and took it for a ride. Very different than the Lifan. It feels much smaller and lower, and being a tall guy the Lifan fits me better. Gearing is good for off road but way too low for street. I'll search the forum for a smaller rear sprocket source (520 chain). Haven't heard back from the ODMV yet. Here are a few pics.

Thanks for posting the photos; that is a clean bike. Needless to say, that motorcycle was a steal for $125. :) The bike appears to be a Roketa DB-05H.

Here is a link to the bike's wiring diagram.

The sticker on the handlebars says it's a RKM 200E5. Here's a pic of the plate on the head tube. Would you say the whole bike is made by Zongshen and imported by Roketa, or just the engine, or the bike but not the engine?

My guess is that Zong made the whole deal.

You stole that bike.

Weldangrind 11-03-2014 07:21 PM

Are you sure it's a 520? It looks like a 428.

Mudflap 11-03-2014 08:08 PM

Yes, it's a 520. Tomorrow I'll go out and count the teeth on both sprockets and see if there is room for a bigger countershaft sprocket, then do the math to figure out what ratio I want. JT Sprockets online catalog has measurements for all their sprockets as well as a good cross reference chart.

culcune 11-03-2014 08:43 PM

My TMEC, in spite of the speedo supposed to be in MPH, is actually in KPH as well as the odometer reading in KMs...you need to measure a mile and see if the odo is in miles or kms. I doubt the 520 chain was stock, but either way, it most likely uses Honda rear sprockets as the vast majority of Chinese enduros do.

I agree on both points. I'm betting the entire motorcycle was manufactured by Zongshen, and you definitely stole that bike. ;)
