Motorcycle cycle battery not charging.
For the past two week I'm trying to diagnose my motorcycle charging system, i had bought a new battery and rectifier and still the battery is not charging. I checked the startor and it seems to be in good condition, when I tested two of the live wire I'm getting a reading of 01.9 oms and it's the same when the test was reverse. The wires don't seems to have an issue. Could it be a bad startor? I have the CG 150 Chinese clone engine.

how many wires are coming out of the stator? im pretty sure that is a DC CDI system, so you should have 2 wires for the pickup, and 3 phases (wires) for charging. they are probably yellow. they should produce AC voltage when running. Those 3 run to recitifer, and then get converted to DC voltage and dumped back to the battery via the red wire.
check the 3 yellow wires coming out of the stator for AC voltage at idle. IIRC somewhere around 5 volts per phase?. hope this helps |
With the bike running and at 3000-4000rpm, what voltage do you see at the battery?
