Pics will come. I sprayed some carb cleaner and it fired. Throttle is stuck. Total carb clean will be soon.

Speedo cable is disconnected. Looks like I need one of those. That and a left rear signal lense.

The windshild mounting area is cracked. Will need to rebuild that. Gorilla glue time.

Front brake needs to be cleaned or something.

This is exciting.

I was just looking up some specs on the Elite 150... They're liquid cooled? Heck, liquid cooled Honda's last forever! This sounds like a really interesting machine, lots of info on the web about it (and tons of vids on Youtube) :D

Carb. I took that little screw out of the air intake tube and sprayed some carb cleaner and it fired.

So I have alittle work to do. First step will be cleanup. Sat outside the last 4 years or more. Been sitting since September unused.

Going to pull the rear plastic to access the engine and carb. Clean the carb test the e-choke. Lube/fixed throttle cable. That should get it running.

Need to address front brake. It is not releasing. Probably cable too. Adjustment almost all the way out. Most likely due for shoes.

Brake light not working. Check bulbs then switches.

Replace speedo cable.

Repair plastic the hold windshield.

Check tire pressure.

Should be ready to ride then.

Amazing how good Honda's are. Sitting neglected and then fixable with not much money or effort.

Looks like a remarkably nice machine. The dashboard is pure class.

I bet you can fiberglass repair much of the broken dashboard plastic, maybe from behind. The rear lens looks like a cheap and easy repair.

I expect there is a reason the speedo cable is not attached. Make sure that it is not frozen, may need some Kroil or similar.

I'd also shoot some penetrating oil through the front brake cable and remove the wheel and inspect the shoes and the cam.

Are you working this weekend? If not I bet you are riding this guy by Sunday! :P

I am going to inspect the speedo issue before I reattach or spend for a new cable.

With the front brake I plan to take the wheel off and inspect the condition of the shoes and lube up the cam pivot etc.

The paint is pretty good. I think it was covered prior to the last owner. I plan to keep it covered too.

I'm watching this thread with great interest, neat machine! I have absolutely no doubt that you will have that bike purring like a kitten in no time. Guessing with the sit in vs sit on design of the typical motorcycle that the scooters give a lot of protection from the wind and elements. Perfect commuter :D

90 percent of my riding will be commuting. The rest just running errands. I may get to go for a fun cruise at some point.

I don't think it will take long to make it go. It was being ridden a few months ago.

I totally wanted one of those when they came out. I still do. Do you remember when Linda Hamilton rode one in Terminator?

I wonder if that dash is ABS; one of our fine members shared that acetone is an effective way to repair ABS plastic.

The next cheapest elite I found close by was $800. Think I did good.

Buford jumped down when the neighbor came out. He serves soft food.

The whole trailer thread has me thinking. I could use one to make runs for bigger items. The other thought was a sidehack. :roll:

Anyway step one this week will be clean and make it run. Hoping to get the plastic and carb off today. Its cold and rainy again and all the girls are sick. :cry:

While in the front wheel might I suggest popping some new wheel bearings in? Seems every used bike I ever purchased needed wheel bearings and steering head bearings.

Once you get her going I *suspect* it will be tire time. Remember that info I posted on tire sizes? You can use it to adjust your gear ratio. (personally I am not a fan of 3:50 10 "square" tires)

You will enjoy a forgotten pleasure: popping over to a "real" dealer and ordering parts.
