New To Me KPX250

Pretty excited about the new KPX. It showed up last week as expected.
Venom Motorsports had a decent deal. The bike seems fantastic. Build quality is better than expected. I had a CSC TT250 previously and this seems like it is the next generation TT250, like the direction CSC should go in the future.

However,... do not buy the "Racing Hand Guards" from Venom. They are super over priced and not what I thought they were. They are made for Grom sized bikes and little 50cc kids bikes and are all flimsy plastic.

This is identical to what they sent: https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Ha...1zcF9tdGY&th=1

I am embarrassed to install them on my KPX. Not sure what I'll do with them, probably just toss 'em out.

Otherwise, Venom did a great job.

The shipper left the 400lb crate at the end of my 90ft gravel driveway without telling me about it or setting up a time to deliver. Just dropped it in the road and left. Not Venom's fault at all. I don't have a fork truck so it was interesting to get that thing up to the house without assembling it in the road. Long story.

Anyway, I only have put 10 miles on it, due to holidays, etc. Seems great. Did the usual assembly stuff using loctite on everything, replaced oil/filter/spark plug, blah blah blah.

Looking forward to many fun miles on street and trail. Now time to go browse tires, real hand guards, and other farkles....

Awesome! Enjoy the new ride. Yeah, those hand guards do look cheesy.

These are the hand guards I have. You will need to remove the bar end weights to install. You will need an impact driver to remove as the bar end weights are Loctite on place. The inserts for the guards are a snug fit. I had no issues installing them but have hand some people try to force them in. If snug, just sand the inserts down to remove any burs. https://amzn.to/4aKGyjx

Do you notice any undue vibration without the end weights in there? I know that's probably a silly question when talking about a thumper, but.... Thanks for the link, they look pretty ok, unlike the one mentioned before.

I didn't notice any change. Probably because the hand guards added weight back.

When my bike was delivered the shipping company did the same thing to me. Never called me to set up delivery. I just checked to tracking number and it said "Delivered" I looked outside and I didn't see the crate. I live in the stiicks, so I walked a little ways down my drive way so I could see the road and sure enough. The crate was sitting in the dang road. I called the shipping company and some raspy voiced jackass answered the phone and he just blew me off basically. I told Venom about this and they said they would address it in the future with their shipping companies, I see they have not.

OH, You are gonna love that bike. The KPX is an outstanding machine. It is EVERY bit as good a bike as any other air cooled 250cc Dual Sport made ANYWHERE. And that I stand behind 100%.

Good to hear great things about the KPX. This is only my 2nd Chonda purchase. I really liked the CSC TT250 and the same day it went to a new owner, I started missing it. Now here we are. LoL.... Kinda wish I had ordered it sooner so I don't have to ride it during winter, but oh well, at least I have the gear for that. Thanks!

I got my bike towards the middle of October, and ended up paying $2,850. I got lucky, and our weather was still mild enough to get a good bit if riding in. If ,I remember right,I have around 1,400 miles on the odometer now. It's starting to get cold enough now that riding is not as enjoyable. It was supposed to be in the low to mid 40s today for the high, which is usually about 2:00 PM -3:45PM. It got a little warmer than that, so I took the Hawk out for a little spin, and with my snow pants, heavy coat, and gloves, I was comfortable enough. I usually ride my Hawk more between here, and town, or on local backroads, and use the KPX more for when I go on longer faster speed rides. They may have already re mapped the ECU on yours, or it may not have needed it, but if you're not satisfied with idle quality, or the bike sometimes dies when you roll the throttle to bring the bike off of a cold idle, then you can send the ECU to America Lifan, and they will remap it for free, and you will get it back quickly.

I’ve heard of the ECU remap thing. Saw it on this site. Thanks for the reminder. The ten miles I’ve done so far seem pretty normal to me, but will definitely be watching for that.

You would probably know it immediately if it was needing done . It would act like a cold carbed bike that is idling with the choke off, but dies at the slight touch of throttle.

Has anyone used that PayTomorrow option on Venoms' website?

What kind of monthly payments did you all get?
