Those must have been good tires!

We need more pics! Please show us what you intend to do with it.

I love trailer life. :D

Wow you got the deal of a life time.

cheesy 07-29-2015 08:17 AM

That's quite a rig.

katoranger 07-29-2015 12:59 PM

I paid for a set of new tires for a Church van and they gave me the camper. Its rough. Needs alot of work, but will be Mom and Dad's place when they visit. Has a new rubber roof. We need to repair some of the interior panels and fix some rot. Then reinstall the AC units and vents.

SpudRider 07-29-2015 01:32 PM

That's a nice acquisition. Thanks for starting the new thread. :)

Last night I got the bedroom slide to go out. The hydraulic ram pushed the rotted wood apart so that wall needs to be redone.

One of the landing gear is stripped out or something. I can't get it to go up or down.

Lily and Buford pulled most of the wallpaper in the bedroom. I send pics to photobucket, but they are not there yet.

My truck is not large enough to pull this safely. I do have a hitch installed so we can move it in the yard.

Weldangrind 07-30-2015 12:08 PM

The new rubber roof is an excellent start.

The slide actuators are hydraulic? I've never seen one like that.

Is the landing gear motorized?

katoranger 07-30-2015 02:15 PM

The slides have hydraulic rams with electric pumps. The landing gear have electric motors that turn a reduction gearbox. Each one has its own motor.

The bad one runs, but it seems that a gear may have broke or a pin.

Hurried up and finished installing the hitch into booger so that we could position it to its restoration location in front of the lab. Noticed booger has a rusted brake line while I was under there.

Squatted some. Not as bad as I was expecting.

Em spotted me. First time backing a fifth wheel camper, but I watched a youtube video and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last year so I think I'm an expert now.

Taking off from its previous home. It squatted this truck more than mine.

Most of the ceiling looks like this. The 70s wood panelling in my living room is going to be repurposed here.

Quick tour. I forgot pics of the other side.

You will have it fixed up in no time. First thing is a couple bug bombs especially if you have Brown Recluse in your area. Make sure to get bombs that specify kills spiders. Then second thing is get it back to waterproof. The interior stuff will be easy for a handy guy like yourself.

The rubber roof has been replaced. Just need to fit rot in the back corner and mostly the bedroom slide. It does not leak any more.

We do have brown recluse and black widows. Have chemicals that I use on the house that should work on the camper too.

katoranger 07-31-2015 08:12 AM

I think we will start at the bedroom and work our way to the back. Its the worst area.
