Hi all after a bit of advice im wanting to get as much power as i can out of a zonshen 250cc have been thinking i mightdo a drawthrough carby turbo.
I have just finished cleaning up the motor to replace the tired 200cc lifan i have in it but really want to get the most out the cg250 So any advice to squeeze some extra power would b great |
Greetings!
Welcome to the forum! Nice trike! Way to start with pictures! Is it me or is that like an adult version of a Big Wheel?!? Ok, adult is probably not the correct word to use. Calling most of us “adults” is...well...yeah, you get the idea!
Ok, back to the “older” person Big Wheel! That is so awesome! I know we usually ask for pictures, but this deserves a YouTube video!!! I can’t really help you with the turbo, but I’m sure some of the other members can. Enjoy the Ride! |
That looks like a lot of fun .

Thanks guys been a labour of love building this over the past 3-4 years, adding bits and improving what i can.
Ill try find a video for u so u get to see how small it really is but still gets up and moves, have got 83km/h out of it on dirt in third but ran out of space to wind it up any more |
looks cool! there is a turbo thread in the dual sport section but i do not think anyone has tried it. if you figure it out let us know.

So far im planning on getting a tunable cdi so i can avance the timing if need be
will b running a 34mm makuni carb with adjustable needle and set the jets Will also b running a air/fuel gauge with warning light to ensure i dont run it to lean i will have a separate oil tank with pump and oil cooler so i dont risk starving the motor of oil and ill run the pump on a timer like a turbo timer so it continues to pump oil round after the motor is stopped to cool down the turbo and get excess temp out Will start off at low psi round 4psi and wind up from there All this together and a propper dyno tune before i ride it should hopefully keep it from blowing up fingers crossed!!! |
The crankshaft is pressed together from my understanding. If that is true, you won't get much pressure in the engine before the crankshaft separates. I've seen quite a few failed pistons in these engines that are run in the Bobber. That would be the next weak link.

Honestly, that first picture made the hair on my arms stand up.
It looks like a jockey shift and a hand clutch; is that right? |
Why is the front brake caliper on the opposite side?
