First "Serious" China Bike?
 

Okay, gents...has anyone heard of a US Importer who is ready/willing/able to import this seriously-kick-a$$-looking two-stroke off-roader?

This is the first "china bike" I've seen that looks reasonably serious for anything other than cow-poke trail plonking.

I think you didn't look too closely at the XTR250 LC, LXR250f, SR250 and SR450 if you think that.

I wonder if a short legged 60 year old can get on it?

Forgive the tone of the post, then. My statement was based on how the North American off-road scene for hard-enduro, GNCC, endurocross, and cross-country racing seems dominated by mid-size two-strokes from KTM, Husqvarna, Beta, Sherco and even the "undead" Gas Gas from time to time. Yamaha even decided to stay in the game last year with the YZ250X.

When I think "aggressive off road" I think the power-to-weight and motor characteristics of a two-stroke. I was wondering if this was a first move to attract the riders in that arena, and into the possibility of a "full range" that included competition (over time) to the Orange or White brands.

Pitster Pro is importing that bike; I understand a 450cc bike will be coming, too, badged GPX and sold via Pitster Pro.

I think the point that people were making is that there are a few 'serious' bikes already available, notably Pitster Pro's XTR 250 lineup, which have proved themselves as more competition ready than, say, a Hawk, not to mention their LXR 250.

Also, there is Asiawing http://www.asiawing.com/ sold via SSR who have a 250 and 450 which are fairly proven on the track and trails.

Not to mention a few niche European bikes use Chinese engines. Someone can chime in on the brands, since it is early and I have not had my coffee, so don't remember any names, but they are available here.

I understand what you were asking/saying, but in the 'shadows' have existed some decent serious machines for a few years now. That GPX is icing on the cake.
