LL Bean Bomber Jacket

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I am a big fan of LL Bean. I'll also admit that I didn't pay list price for the jacket. Nowhere near it. This was a somewhat proactive, or maybe impulse, purchase for three reasons. The first was for winter riding when I get a Ural. The second was because it fit. The third, because it was on the clearance rack at the LL Bean Outlet in Bangor, ME. OK, maybe that was the first reason.:hehe: This is one warm jacket. Maybe too warm for late April morning rides. The fit is good and it is most definitely wind proof. Not 100% sold on the collar, but it does keep my neck warm. Only other gripe is that the zipper is a bit stiff, but I expect that to loosen up with use. It figures that this was probably the last day I'll wear it before I need it again. |
That's a nice jacket. :) How big a discount did you get. ;)

Well, Spud, its' list price was $400. It was at the Bean Outlet because it was a return for size. Too big or too small, dunno? It had been marked down to $160, which was a good price. But I found it on the '50% Off Marked Price' rack, so it was $80.
We had a $100 LL Bean gift card, so it could have been FREE, but Mrs. C turned out to be a better shopper than I. Between my jacket, a couple coats for Mrs. C, new slacks for the 'no longer pregnant' daughter, a couple of Tees for the SIL, a book on birds, socks, and a skirt for the older granddaughter, and some clothes for the baby, we got out of there for slightly more than the price of the jacket.:D Right place at the right time. |
My goodness, at that price you practically stole that jacket. ;) Congratulations on the excellent acquisition.

Yup. Felt like maybe we should have run to the car.

I've been buying from LL Bean for over 50 years. Great place. I love 'em.

80.00!? You stole it! Congrats!
