Coolant
Anyone running Dex-cool in their NC250 instead of the green stuff?
|
DO NOT USE IT! It will turn acidic and eat up the gaskets within a year.

I run Evans Heavy Duty. No issues.

Look for any organic, silicate free coolant, anda you Will be fine.

All I had was a bunch of Dex-Cool from the Chevy's I own and no green stuff on hand.
I ended up getting a jug of the green stuff when I went into town the next day. Anything to try to save an hour drive........ |

It can also turn into a thick GELL that is damn near impossible to clean out of all the passage ways... just say NO to using the DEX |

I've only experienced gelling once and it was in my '98 Cavalier. I did a vinegar flush and it really pulled the goop out. It also brought out a lot of rust that the dexcool was supposed to prevent. >:( The car still runs great and I am fortunate to not have any issues after ridding the car of the dexkill. |
