Engines- 250, 300?

What engines are you considering?
The Zongshen 250 (249cc) that came with my Templar X is available on eBay for about 500 bucks (maybe $70 shipping). But for about 100 more, the liquid cooled Zongshen 300 (279cc) 4valve can be had via Alibaba. Shipping unknown ($300 maybe?). I think that 300 will fit in my frame OK. Probably have to remove the tank for valve adjust. But I have mounting points for oil cooler, or radiators. My engine is new, so hard to justify at the moment lol !!

But still tempting:tup:

Have the prices gone down any for winter?

what is your motivation?

I have asked myself why I might buy an engine, when these bikes are so cheap I can buy a complete package. Worse, they all seem to be bespoke, so you have to buy the same engine, or go to work modifying the frame!!!

Why bother. I am just going to spend the extra thou on the right bike, with the right engine. If I need to buy a replacement, I can see that they are affordable. In fact, so affordable that I can order one, modify it for a race tweaked replacement (for my racing circuit participation LOL!!!!!). Coo:)

i see some people do do that...they buy one, use it, get their kicks, buy another one. a regular serial buyer. if you have a purpose for each bike, why not... it's all therapy :)

there's no replacement for displacement. just sayin'. :)
