Check out this amazing Zong I just saw!
Spotted in the library parking lot on my lunch time walk. :D
Check out the mileage! Look at the original new condition dualsport tires! 8O Its faded from the desert sun but nothing a can of Krylon can't fix. If it's still there when I'm out of work for the day I'm leaving a note on it with an offer to buy it. :P http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...1/IMG_6139.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...1/IMG_3566.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...1/IMG_2018.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...1/IMG_6720.jpg |
I'm glad to hear that it's sun faded. I was going to say that I didn't know they came in pink. I hope you get a favourable response, because it's not even broken in yet.
|
I bet that Zong hasn't had its first oil change. ;) A little Krylon Fusion spray paint, and that Zong will be in mint condition! :)
Spud :) |
It was not there after work but I will keep an eye out for it.
Lets start a poll. What do you all think is a good offer? :P |
$900
|
Good bid. Keep them coming! :D
My logic is the bike is likely an '06. He probably paid about a grand for it six years ago. Most people would consider it to have poor cosmetics due to the severe sun fading. Plus, the naive would consider it just a cheap knockoff.... 8) I was thinking a $700 offer. |
My guess is that the original owner never rode it and just sold it. If that's the case, the new owner isn't likely to take a hit on it. I'm with Kato. $900.
|
That is another distinct possibility.
It is worth every penny of $900. |

If I owned it I'd run it as is (except painted) until the stock tires wore out, then it would need Spudwheels of course.

During lunch I will ride over to see if it is there and leave a note on it.
|
I'm at that office again tomorrow. Will prepare a little note just in case it's still there! :P
|
She's a beauty! Be nice to see you get it and spray the plastics back to life :). After reading Spud's numerous fantastic ride reports, and seeing the longevity he's enjoying with his I have a huge respect for the Zong. :D
|
This Zong needs me.
It would be fun to actually HAVE a Chinabike again. |
Not there.
|
Know anybody who can run the plate?
|
Indeed I do but I don't have the plate. No worries. Wasn't meant to be.
Brother Spud once reminded me of the story of David and Bath Sheeba. I don't need the Zong. Some kid is riding it to school. Let him enjoy it. |

Do you not have your zong anymore?
|
I have had 2 Zongs.
The first one was about 3 1/2 years ago. It was the one I was hit on and had a bad accident. I fixed it up, and sold it. The kid I sold it to crashed on his way home from my house and broke his arm. 8O The second Zong was a 250cc streetbike. It had great potential but never ran. It was not cost/time effective to repair and I sold it for $150 in non running condition. |
It was there today!
I left a note stating my intention to make a cash offer if he was interested in selling. 8) |
There's hope! :D
|
No call or text....yet.
|
I know ths is an old post, and I just re-found this forum I used to subscribe to years ago. So I reupped and had to coment on this post that I have 3, (THREE) of these bikes still in crate. Love 'em so much I bought extras. Someday I might sell one.

What are spudwheels?
Charles. |
SpudRider became quite proficient at lacing wheels, so he would do it for cheap for members. The best example is the front Zong rim, which was originally 18", IIRC. He laced 21" rims onto the hubs for better trail manners and a wider selection of tires.
|
Ahh. I've laced a few myself in the past. I may again for my SSR Buccaneer... that 15" rear may need to end up a 17-incher one day.
