China Bike Bashing
I figured you China bike guys would not appreciate Yammie's view on Venom Motorsports and Chinese bikes. show your support for Chinariders. I think he got hurt feelings. Just Saying. lol I never really cared for his videos and bashing. I'm sure there is more to the story than he is telling.

I agree, no one should buy a Chinese bike, only us :) .. Oh and where's my free bike, ugh, i can write a great review :)
|
I used to semi-like his vids.
If what he says is true about Venom demanding certain content and nothing negative, that's seriously blowing it on their part, and got the reviewer on a bad foot, before the bike even showed up. That said, it's obvious by his overall attitude he was going to be shellacking the bike and even making huge deals out of even the smallest things. He's once again missing the entire China Bike appeal. A reliable ride for less than half the price. One of the things that crossed my mind while watching the vid is that out of all the CB's I've had, I've not experienced anything like what he's complaining about, though I do thorough PDI's upon assembly, like checking the chain tension and rear wheel alignment. Maybe that's the problem? These reviewers are used to bikes that are thoroughly prepped and fine-tooth combed by the factory/dealer? |

I'm still waiting for my 2016 Hawk to just fall apart. lol My best bike so far is the KPX250. I didn't had to mod anything. Just change oil and put gas in it. The bike has performed every bit as good as my Vulcans S. Hell even on my Vulcan S I had to tighten up bolts the the dealer had missed. |
And the China Bike community responds.

knowing what we know about Chinabikes nowadays, this dude kind of made a fool out of himself here. I made sure to let him know.

That's an issue with chinese motorcycles sold in the US, they are given to the end user in a crate. That crate is meant to be given to a dealership, where they put the motorcycle together.
Give him a crated BMW, he will face the same issues, chains to tight, brakes that drag, parts that are torqued.. That's because the product is not ready to be given to the end user. We are living in a time where companies must put labels like "WARNING MAY CONTAIN COW'S MILK" to a milk jug. So expecting the average user being able to do the final setup of ANY motorcycle is just silly. Then it comes the "reliability" part, he has no idea, yet he talks, there are folks out there that have rode more kms or miles in their chinese motorcycles than yammie did in his whole life. |
Yammie Noob: "No one should buy a chinese motorcycle"
Yammie Noob: "I bought a chinese motorcycle" Its all about getting clicks on YouTube. |
Exactly. These bikes are not meant for someone who is not mechanically incline. They do make good beginner bikes for someone who has mechanical skills. And not the best bike for someone who may have ridden over 30 years and have no clue how to work on the bike. These bikes are made for intelligent people like us who are willing to put the time in to prep the bike and are getting the bike to learn how to work on them.
|
IMO the 250cc platform in these bikes is well suited to dual sport and dirtbike applications where they shine and are a ton of fun.. generally you cant use anywhere near the max output most of the ADV's or Big-4 dirtbikes have on gravel and hard pack, especially in tight technical terrain where too much throttle and you're going off that cliff or into a tree.. with that being said, other than for looks, i think its kinda silly to market a "superbike" style bike when its like 15-20hp and cant go much over 70mph but for the younger riders i know sportbikes is where its at, and probably most of us started out on one as i did 30 years ago with a ZX11.. so for them its a great way to learn not only how to ride but how to work on and maintain a bike and i think whatever gets you to tiptoe into this world is worth it regardless of what the nay sayers might say.. as always, do what makes you happy not what the other guy thinks you should do (why i've never owned a Harley)

I'm on the opposite end. I can care less about it. I created my channel about 7 years ago because it was the only way i could post videos on here to show mods and so on for my Hawk. I never expected anyone to really watch them or even subscribe. I looked today and received my 1500th subscriber. lol As you guys can see there ain't no way i could do this for a living with the bad videos I put up. Thanks for all the support and subscribers. |
Like 2LZ said, They miss the entire point of a Chinese bike. When I rode my KPX to work, another Dual Sport owner couldn't believe how nice it was, especially for the price. Because last year he paid 4,000 for a (I think) 5 year old TW200. And if you get down to brass tacks, you would be surprised whats made in China / Taiwan. Alot of these people complaining about the China bikes don't know a Phillips from a flat head. SO, let them keep nay saying, keeps the price lower for those of us who like them.

Honda has deals with Lifan, some of their cheapest motorcycles are made by Lifan. Yamaha has deals with jianshe, just like Honda, some of their cheapest models are made by them. Even a good bunch of the parts being used in the XT250 sold in the US are chinese. Kawasaki also has with Loncin (BMW also has deals with Loncin).. The KLX 230 screams chinese made. Suzuki also has deals with Jiangmen dachangjiang Quote:

Oh one more thing, then I'll shut up :lmao: He said he was gonna PDI the bike, test rides it, then his only complaint was a dragging caliper and the chain was too tight? Yet, ANOTHER reason I like getting bikes in a crate delivered to my house. Because surely there is some JACK WAGON like Yammie Noob working at the dealer who is supposedly the "trained expert" doing the PDI on my bike. When in reality, do people REALLY think dealers are putting their top accredited Tech's uncrating and assembling bikes all day? I'm willing to bet its some poor schmuck paid 10 bucks an hour.

I totally agree with Herbie regarding the chip on his shoulder in the review vid. Admittedly, I didn't watch the second video because after the first one, I'd seen enough and knew what his mindset was.
Again, if it's TRUE that Venom sent Yammie Noob a list of demands, in advance, for his review video, then shame on them. I'd be infuriated and have a bad attitude also. I'd like to hear from Venom on this here, as I've always read here about how good of a dealer they were. It seems them and CSC boil to the top, for sure. Regarding Yammie Noob....I mean, come on. You don't even check the chain tension before heading out? Really? These bikes were tossed together and crated. Granted, we as China Riders fine tooth comb every bike we get. I've done the same to ALL bikes I've bought, especially new bikes. Lord knows I've found enough issues on new stuff from Japanese dealers. As I've stated in another thread, my Royal Enfield was the only bike I've ever bought that was perfectly setup and didn't need one adjustment, other than control preferences. Bottom line is, if a new buyer doesn't know to check chain tension, real wheel alignment, or cable adjustments, you best not buy a China bike. If you want to ride something off the dealer lot, and your idea of maintenance is bringing it back in and complaining, then by all means, spend the thousands more. |

One fun thing to do if you meet a China basher in person is ask them about their phone. It has yet to fail me that they have an overpriced Iphone they paid a pile of money for. At which point you whip out: "Nice! I wonder where THAT was made?"
You can often pull the same about their big screen TV they are so proud of but not always. Dog Chinese stuff all they want, if we pulled it all off the market the shelves at Wal Mart would be about bare. Chinese stuff is a large part of our lives, always thought it was kind of funny to draw the line arbitrarily at motorcycles. I don't have time for such people. |
The Chinese car market has dedicated original domestically designed and produced cars.
But in addition, there are German-Chinese ventures and even US-China production agreements (Ford/Lincoln, in particular) Here are some examples (We will NEVER see these cars imported to USA! BMW X1 – marketed as the Brilliance 1E VW Polo (Jetta on smaller VW Polo platform) Jetta LWB (long wheel based) is a standard Jetta VW is BIG in China Audi A4 and A7, A8 sportback. These models have slightly different styling MB A-class LWB (again with the long wheel based version). Cherokee (Yup, a Jeep) discontinued, got a face lift and continued with Mitsubishi or MB engine Ford Taurus/Mondeo Ford Territory (Australian model, an SUV/CUV) Lincoln Zephyr, built with a CHinese specific built Ford engine (Changan-Ford) And of course there are the blatant copy cars (CG clones!?): Land Wing (Evoque) Dongfeng Hanma (Hummer) looks like the original with tire pressure legs! Geely GE (Rolls Phantom) Suzhou Eagle Carrie - Porsche 718 Cayman Dadi Shuttle - Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Victory S10 - Cadillac Escalade |
I have 4 Chinese motos and 1 Russian one and all are doing just fine. I have owned many Japanese motos and one American one and they did fine too.
When someone makes fun of my motos I ask them about their cell phone and their TV and just about everything they have bought recently. lol |
If Venom provided a bike for review with a list of conditions, then its no longer a review.
If you confident in a product then give the reviewer free reign... Secondly don't give review samples to egotistical influencers with click bait material. I can't say I'm surprised with the outcome. If you are confident in a product then find a decent reviewer perhaps Yamies ex producer Spite's Corner would have been the smarter choice. |
The great thing is everything is made in China or at least has Chinese parts. Farmers in my area grow soy and it gets shipped to China for electronics. It is the way of the world. Honestly my first bike I seriously rode was a csc sg250, then I bought a kpm200 from venom. Both bikes taught me how to work on motorcycles, how to break motorcycles and how to fix them. I have an affinity for small displacement “China” bikes now.

Yeah but Venom approached Yammie in the first place, Correct? Unless Yammie approached Venom initially, which would transpire events in a completely alternative way. From what I can tell Venom wanted exposure/clout without doing a background check. When you offer pie to someone makes sure they aren't likely to throw it back into your face. |

My guess would be Yammie approached Venom expecting to get a bike and paid sponsorship. I'm sure Venom gets tons of request from You Tubers for free bikes daily so there is no reason for them to approach Yammie. As far as a Contract, I'm sure Venoms legal department requires one as I'm willing to bet Venom has probably sent out bikes in the past and the You Tuber just took the bike and gave nothing back. It would be good to hear from someone with Venom on what really happened.

New video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hMN...nel=YammieNoob This is the reason why it's a mistake to call 250 a 230. He is doing it just to trash the brand, but if you call it 250 and it's 230. Then you compare it to an actual 250, it's going to lose everywhere. Then if he got a max speed of 57 mph, then he got a bad engine or he was just not pushing it... |
57? I did that on my Templar the other day with my wife on the back. I've had it up over 60 myself with more to go but it's not yet broken in. Something wrong with that bike.
There may be some issue with the way folks these days consider motor vehicles like household appliances. No tweaking, tuning, or even maintenance required. Or so they think anyway. The Chinese bikes remind me of the old days when most riders were at least halfway mechanics. Like fans of old British bikes, if you can't work on one you need to sell it to the next guy. I was born and raised on all kinds of machinery that needed and responded nicely to some regular human attention. I had zero expectation that my new Chinese bike wouldn't need a bit of adjusting and tweaking right out of the crate. Not so much because what I expected for quality but knowing there's no way the folks at the factory could have dialed it all in and tuned it exactly how I wanted it. |

Mostly. But here’s something funny. I treated mine like an appliance and it turned out to be an absolute unit! not kidding. I got about 6000 miles before I did a stitch of maintenance. Nothing. Just tightening the chain and changing oil as needed. I didn’t even do the valves until the 5000 mile maintenance that I did at 6000 miles. I did have one electrical problem because the factory put together some wiring wrong and abrasion made it short out. This was only on my year x-pect. The year after they fixed the problem with a proper conduit which is how I fixed it also. But I did nothing. I didn’t even get a new chain until about 6000 miles. Stock chain. Stock tires. No adjustments to the bike. No maintenance. I just rode and rode everywhere. In those 6000 miles, I rode: *Florida sugar sand over a foot deep *Part of the Colorado TAT and over some crazy high passes *Rampart Range in Colorado *Aspen *Ohio *Kansas *Catskills NY *Rural Georgia I'm probably forgetting a few. I treated it as an appliance and rode all of that. With no problems. My x-pect took all that riding and plenty of drops without incident or adjustments. I had a thread going on here to keep track of all of this riding with no maintenance. I wanted to see how far I could go. But I stopped updating the thread because all I kept doing was putting down a new mileage and "all is well." It got kind of boring. Everything is still just fine. I haven’t been riding as much lately which kind of sucks. But nothing wrong with the bike. I’m really not sure why mine worked as well as it did. Or why it was put together so well. It came from X pro on Amazon. |
I bought my 2021 Lifan KPR 200 from a dealer in the beginning of May last year. I didn't check any bolts or do anything but ride the snot out of it. I have over 7000 miles so far with nothing more than 1 valve adjustment, several chain adjustments, a couple of oil changes, and a new rear tire.
|
If you watch that you will notice he only has around 60 miles on it. He did not break it in, did not do any maintenance, and was only in like 4th gear. I know that getting couch’s is what he is after, but come on that is ridiculous. He obviously has it out for Venom.

There are a lot of Chinese scooters/motorcycles on the road in China so they must be ok.
|
I'm not watching that last one he posted on the Venom Bike or any of his other videos. I'm not giving him the click / view. I spect he is butt hurt. I think its like Jerry said, he thinks he is a somebody in the motorcycle world and contacted Venom and they gave him a contract that he didn't like. So, he in turn bought one and now is on a mission of slander. The bikes are pretty damn fantastic if you don't try and make them into something they are not. The KPX I have is a flat out fantastic bike, but you won't see me comparing to something out of its league. That guy has offiicialy earned himself a spot on the Letsride Youtuber CHOAD list.

Yammie Noob specifically is a twerp, and I don't advise that anyone support him. He head-on collided with somebody's Porche while riding like an idiot a while ago, back in 2017 or something, and his behavior following that really had to be seen to be believed. Despite the entire ordeal being completely his fault, he had the chutzpah to go begging his viewers for money afterwards and released a video basically making fun of the guy whose car he wrecked. Get out your Googlemachine if you want to, and type in "yammie noob porche crash."
He knows very little about bikes and just makes clickbaity, nearly contentless videos full of stereotyping, hyperbole, and misinformation. |
