Doc said it best. You have made Kansas a 'kid heaven.'

Weldangrind 01-07-2014 09:13 PM

That's awesome! I'm amazed at the punishment the little GY6 can take.

katoranger 01-12-2014 08:52 PM

The big girls put it to the test this afternoon. I saw it on two wheels and in the air a few times. Lost the battery so we had to make a new strap and crimp some new connections on. Recycled a fuse holder from the green van.

Weldangrind 01-12-2014 10:48 PM

Good thing it has a roll bar!

SpudRider 01-12-2014 11:53 PM

It's also good you geared it down. :hehe:

Jibberwobble 01-17-2014 02:11 AM

Loving this for a toy and fantastic to see your kids getting stuck in and having some daddy spec fun!

katoranger 01-17-2014 07:53 AM

It has been alot of fun.

The buggy is still working great. Just needs a new battery. Current one won't hold a charge after someone left the lights on.

Emilie just starting driving it tonight.

Weldangrind 08-28-2014 10:47 AM

Your kids are going to tell awesome stories about you!

katoranger 08-28-2014 04:18 PM

You mean that Daddy jumped the pond dam with them.

I couldn't see anything. Google is trying to get me to create a Plus account. Can you embed the vid or pics?

katoranger 08-29-2014 08:53 PM

Not sure if that link will work. I made the video public. My phone automatically loads them to google backup for me.

Weldangrind 08-30-2014 04:07 AM

Same result.

katoranger 08-30-2014 03:50 PM

Okay. I will see what i can find. Maybe I can download it.

The girls had a sleepover the go kart has been subjected to multiple drivers. It always starts and seems to just go. Time to do an oil change and grease it.

SpudRider 08-31-2014 12:05 AM

The video worked for me. I loved it when she entered open ground, and floored the accelerator pedal. ;)

:hehe:

katoranger 08-31-2014 10:16 AM

Must be Canada.:hmm:

Not really sure. I don't use google plus, just the picture backup.

katoranger 08-31-2014 10:17 AM

I plan to change the seat rails so that it will move farther forward and then add better seat belts. I am watching some from a Jr dragster that are out of date.

katoranger 08-31-2014 10:28 AM

I am thinking these may work well. The stock ones the buckles don't unlatch easily.

SpudRider 08-31-2014 12:11 PM

Emilie is a good driver.

Weldangrind 08-31-2014 02:03 PM

I hope you get those belts for a good price.

BTW, I was in the States when I tried to view the vid. I'll try another browser later.

katoranger 08-31-2014 02:39 PM

Maybe Spud has a gmail account. I really don't know.

SpudRider 09-01-2014 01:30 AM

I do have a gmail account.

Weldangrind 09-01-2014 03:11 AM

Me too, but not Google Plus.

katoranger 09-01-2014 08:58 AM

I will see if I can get it uploaded someplace else.

katoranger 09-01-2014 09:12 AM

I have found where I can upload from google plus to youtube.

katoranger 09-01-2014 09:13 AM

I used my phone so the video is not very good.

Weldangrind 09-01-2014 11:41 AM

Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to upload it to YT. She looks very confident behind the wheel.

Seat Relocation

4 Attachment(s)
Emilie and Lily are too short to sit in the seat and reach the pedals.

Today in the Dumpstertech Laboratory I removed the seat and developed a new mount.

Version 1 was not high enough. It was 1" square tube.

Version 2 is made from the frame rail of a lawn tractor. Perfect 3" height and the channel made for easy bolting to the seat rails and the frame.

Buford the lab assistant was there to test. I can now move the seat forward enough for them and back enough that I can still squeeze in there. Next is the new safety harness.

SpudRider 09-03-2014 01:59 PM

Nice work, as always.

Buford has a tough job, but somebody has got to do it. ;)

:hehe:

Seat belt is here. Emilie bumped a tree yesterday and bruise her elbow.

Weldangrind 09-04-2014 11:49 PM

At least she's young, and she'll heal quickly. Bruised elbows really smart!

New safety harness installed.

Weldangrind 09-08-2014 10:18 PM

You're gonna raise a group of crazy off-roaders! :D

SpudRider 09-09-2014 04:16 AM

It appears someone was collecting eggs with the buggy. ;)

katoranger 09-09-2014 04:01 PM

Yes she was. It makes a pretty good farm vehicle.

katoranger 09-27-2014 10:45 PM

It survived 3 solid hours of riding tonight with 5 different kids. One reliable machine. Emilie also toted off some branches and a load of apples.

katoranger 09-27-2014 10:47 PM

3 hours on one gallon of gas.

Weldangrind 09-28-2014 01:47 AM

That's impressive! That machine was an excellent purchase.
