QSmotor has some motor/controller kits for projects like you thinking of. It's more of a fun project than anything. Electric is okay for a daily commuter in the city though. Not the greatest idea for the long haul. lol

Have you heard of compressed air engines? Very similar to combustion, but uses a blast of compressed air. Similar to an air gun pushing a pellet out of a barrel. I saw that tech like 10+ years ago. Talk about zero emissions and all around ease of access to compressed air. I'm sure it was patented and stored away in a safe somewhere by Ford.

Hey Jerry, glad you got one and I have been following your vids and such. I bought one of these eVaders back in early 2020 and have been running a Li-Ion pack and Sabvaton Controller for a few years.

Any chance of a link to where you got the good bluetoth module?

JerryHawk250 08-14-2023 08:02 AM

I need to upgrade to lithium Ion batteries. The bluetooth adapter only works with the YUYangKing Controller. Is the Sabvaton Controller capable of tuning?

dr99miller 08-14-2023 10:36 AM

Yes, the sabvaton has a bluetooth module, but I have the OEM King Controller sitting around. If that could be adjusted I would like to use it for other experiments (coleman style mini-bike frame that's laying around comes to mind)

Okay,
Here's a link to the Adapter. Don't waste your time buying from any of the other venders to save money. I ordered two and turned out to be counterfeit and didn't work. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...yAdapt=glo2usa

Subscribed! Thanks for the vids, Jerry. I was thinking hard about electrifying my Simple Single Cruiser by Giant, and then I found the Hawk 250. The idea still floats around my feeble mind from time to time, but I just have this feeling that electric is going nowhere. It's just a bad idea. Great for RC sized stuff, terrible for full sized. It's gonna go the way of solar is how it feels. Especially when you consider NO ONE is buying full sized electric vehicles...unless they mandate it, or you lose your job if you don't buy one like they did with the vaccine.

I think you mean, "vaccine". LOL

Found a couple pictures from when I had done the Li-Ion battery and tucked the OEM controller inside the fairings, seems like there is a lot of interest in the Li-ion and it was a massive upgrade over the AGM ones that came with it.

That's my plan. Just trying to find a good battery for a decent price. I'll probably go with a 40AH battery.

That sounds like a great plan, if I was to do it again I would have went bigger. There's a TON of room inside the belly pan on these. I bought this one in 2020 for $400 on eBay and it's gotten over 1000 miles on it with hardly noticible degredation. I'd be comfortable saying that company is decent enough and they have a 72v40ah around $900.
