I'm currently looking at the Mash 650 X-Ride, and hoping against hope they bring it to the USA...

Charles.

I'm getting more and more interested in Royal Enfield motorcycles.

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I checked this site.
I also developed an interest in Royal Enfield but, life reared it's ugly head and decided to give me a stroke last year so my riding days are over.
I think you'd be happy with a RE. They make excellent products. RE was the only brand, for me, that brought back the mental joy I used to have for riding.

Thank you. Yes, it does suck. Well, at least I had almost 50 years of fun. The thing that's most upsetting now is seeing all the retro bikes coming out, styled like the bikes from the 70s I learned to ride on. I blame Royal Enfield for making the INT650 at a time I couldn't afford to buy one, lol.

Sorry to hear about your stroke. I was raised by a dad in a wheelchair because of a stroke. He was 46 when he had his. Keep up the fight. He eventually got out of the chair and was able to drive again.
Regarding the RE's, I'm a huge fan. Great bikes for the bucks. Also a fantastic history and heritage.

I was lucky. In the beginning, the stroke affected my right side. As time has passed, I regained function in my leg (I can walk and drive) and some function in my arm though, not enough to be able to ride.
The thing that pisses me off more than anything is the timing. The manufacturers waited so long to bring back the 60s/70s style retro look starting with the Kawasaki W8OO, then Royal Enfield's INT650 and Continental models I didn't get a chance to try any of them out.
It feels like they conspired to play a dirty trick on me. LOL

There's little doubt in my mind you'll be back on two wheels again someday soon. Keep up the exercises and for the love of Pete, take yer meds the way they tell you too!
