Perhaps, but hasn't society done that already with Christmas?

Hey, I found my way back into the garage this morning and didn't have to dress like Nanook of the North to get any work done. Anywho, got the mechanical seal installed in the rear cover before heading out for (sigh, please kill me) furniture shopping.

Will get the new bits on the timing side this afternoon if I can still walk and hopefully have the engine back together tomorrow. Then, onto the E-fan.

Furniture shopping. The bane of a married man's existance.

I got a couch off Craigslist. Good to go!

MICRider 03-02-2013 03:40 PM

Lol! I hate shopping for anything that doesn't have an engine on it! :P

Whew!! Dodged that bullet.

We stopped at Farm & Fleet* first, "to look at infant's clothing". By the time Mrs. C had finished rifling the racks, she had $200 of 'on sale' clothes for both grand kids and just wanted to go back home. Just not early enough for me to get back out to the garage.

Doc-Your're classier than I. Two 5 gal. buckets, one 6' 2" x10", and a few boat cushions and I have a couch. Mrs. C just doesn't appreciate the simplicity.

*I got a few rolls of 16g primary wire, heat shrink tubing, and four 'Salted Nut Rolls'. Was a good trip for me.

Think a Payday candy bar with less caramel and more salt.

Just what my diabetic body craves.

Weldangrind 03-03-2013 10:19 PM

I need that! I'll keep an eye out for it during my next run to the States.

katoranger 03-04-2013 08:18 AM

I haven't had a salted nut roll in a long time.

Weld, if you wish I can swing into the store and send some your way.

Thanks, Kato. I'm only 35 blocks from the border, and I cross quite frequently; I'm sure I'll find one.

It was like a junkie getting a fix.

It turned out to be a 'seal only' weekend. Daughter came by with the grandson yesterday, so I took him out places, Cabela's, L. L. Bean, REI, Ace Hardware, TSC, local bike shop and the bait shop. Ya know, the real important places. If the lawn mower repair shop and farm implement dealer had been open, I'd have taken him there, too. Little poop was well accepted everywhere we went.

So, new plan. As I have achieved the seniority status of 'having come with the building' aka, six weeks vacation, I'm taking the last week of this month off to put the bike back together. No home projects, no honey do, just the bike. Everything is there, I just need to be left alone to get it done. And temps where I don't need to go 'Full Carhartt' to work in my shop.

Me too! They've told me for years that we'll never eclipse five weeks, but they've told me I get six this year. Five years overdue, but that's ok. I intend to take at least most of a week and focus on bikes.

Mrs. Weldangrind crossed the border for some of that sweet American low-priced fuel, but I forgot to ask her to pick up a Salted Nut Roll. Arrgh. :x

FastDoc 03-05-2013 01:32 PM

Weld, you know you are screwed when American fuel is low priced.

If I have to cut out salt I'm out of luck. It's a favorite indulgance for me.

Cheesy got to go to Cabelas! Great place! :D

I'm more of a fan of Gander Mountain, (grew up where they were founded) but Cabela's is closer. L. L. Bean is pretty close, too, but it ain't the Freeport, ME flagship store.

cheesy 03-22-2013 07:12 PM

Well, aitch eeee double hockey sticks, next weeks vacation has been canceled. :?

I suppose it's just as well, it's still freakin' cold out.
