I think a DR125 is about 3/4 inch longer than mine. Am bidding one an eBay one right now.

I got a 1987 Suzuki DR125 shock bought on eBay. Looks like it might be an exact, or close, fit. Will know more when it gets to me. I will report back!

I put the dr125 shock on today. Adjusted the spring tension so it has sag about 2 inches at rest without a rider. Feels really good! Will see how it feels on logging roads this weekend.

Nice find on the rear shock. Does your Roketa bolt the shock directly to the swingarm or does it have linkage?

My Kinroad really needs a stiffer rear mono-shock too! Mine bolts directly to the swingarm and is a really short 9-7/8" (250mm) eye-to-eye.

Cheers!

Mine actually has linkage. Kinda cheesy and sloppy linkage, but I shimmed it out with washers and etc and got it tight but not binding. The shock was about 3/4" longer, but with the spring sag adjusted seems to be really good.

This bike's frame is an exact knock off of a Beta Alp from the early 2000's. Even the linkages are the same. I almost wonder if Beta didn't get their frames out of china maybe. Anyway, I've got it decently adjusted by giving it about 3" of sag at rest. The linkage has bolts with a shoulder, so it tightens up but still can pivot. But, between wear and lousy machining, nothing was very tight. I added the washers here and there and have it pretty good. I figure if things wear out over time, I'll re-bush the links with some other method and get it to be a little higher quality. For now, working well!

I wonder if you could find a used Beta Alp link for sale; that would be a nice upgrade.

I've actually been looking! New, off the Beta site is very expensive, so yes, a used set would be optimal.

And, having said that, there are 0 suspension parts on ebay for the Beta Alp... lol oh well...

If I should happen to spot one on CL, I'll let you know.

Thanks! It will be the early 2000's version, probably the 125. I've looked at them on the Beta site, and they look identical. Maybe the Chinese bought their plans and tooling when that version went obsolete. I did find a shock for 550$ new... hahahaha, more than I have into the whole bike!

Oh yeah, I sold my Suzuki tc and Ts 185's. A guy in grants pass specializes in them and bought them. I looked at the bikes in the garage and realized I just didn't have the energy, time or motivation. I was also kinda disappointed I'd accidently bought the TS thinking it was a TC, and many parts don't really interchange. Anyway, the money will go to more bike projects including fixing the ttr225 in Alaska. Gonna take the Roketa on a ride today and check it out. XRL is waiting for an oil change.

One more (well, 2 actually) motorcycle related thing: I'm getting a XR600 front light assembly for the Roketa.

Also, if anyone has an exhaust baffle for a 2002 Yamaha ttr225, I'd be interested in buying it. Several other Yamaha's including the XT and the TT have the same baffle I think. The bike I'm repairing in Alaska is missing the baffle. I hate how loud it is...

I'm looking forward to seeing the XR headlight on the Roketa.

I'll get a picture up of it when it all comes together.
