Hey RJ, I didn't see your message till just now.

Yeah, that was my thinking about the longer spring, and so far, I like the 375/465 spring a lot better. I weigh about 200 lbs geared up and have stripped off the bars and side cases. My top case is full of tools, jackets and lunch. Even loaded up, the 400/450 spring felt way too stiff for me.

The drawback with this spring is since it's so much longer, it'll take a while to change preload between light and heavy loads.

Detours, Ryan at CSC said you were happy with the lighter 375 progressive spring and was wondering if you can tell me about if it is an improvement . I weight around 175lbs and with loaded up RX3 for camping the 475 spring works fine but is harsh when unloaded riding around town. I ordered one thinking the longer spring will allow the shock to work better thru its travel even if preloaded more then the 475??? Whats your thoughts? happy with it or no thanks, rj

    Hi Longboarder,

I wrote a thread a while back comparing the RX3 to the Vstrom. It has a couple of pics you could use.

Hi I see you have a csc/rx3 and a 650 vstrom. My vstrom is in USA. I am trying to explain/show my friend "iron butt" larry the size difference as he also has a 650 vstrom but is looking for a smaller lighter alternative(he is 71). Could you take a pic of both together and post it on my thread?
Thanks, getting used to 'splitting' a required driving style here. RSD
