Hi dont know if i've got the right place here for people to help me but thought i'd try this site before i get ripped off in a shop .

I have a tamoretti 125 cc retro and for the past month its been running really bad.
Problems are its rather sluggish once it gets going feels like its got KANGAROO petrol at times and it seems to be using a hell of alot more than it was .
It's not going no more than 50mph and its a struggle to get there, have been told could be my Carb getting stuck and letting in too much fuel .
Have heard about these engine flush you can add to your fuel to try and flush out the carb of anyone knows of any that are good or will work i would be grateful as would like to try and sort this problem before i have to resort to taking it into a shop.

Any help most gratefull

matt

I believe this is the scooter.
http://www.qualityscooters.co.uk/125cc-scooters/515/tamoretti-125cc-retro-scooter.html

Check the oil to see if it is contaminated with gas. If it is over full or smells like gas then likely the carb is leaking gas internally and running into the engine.

Hi

Yes thats the scooter i have and had a look this morning ok Oil is a little high but i topped it up at the weekend as it was rather low and it was still doing to same when the oil level was low so it might not be that .
I does not smell of petrol / gas only really the same as it does normally.

Any other idea's ?

It may be ignition related. Have you changed the sparkplug? How many miles/kms?

Also it is possible that the problem is in the drive system. Worn out belt/rollers etc.
