This is how I limited the throttle on my son's gio pocket dirt bike. I will warn you it is still pretty quick even with only 1/3rd throttle.

Also keep in mind the carb is pretty fragile. The metal isn't the highest quality. I broke the petcock on my son's bike while attempting to shim the limiter a little more.

Please understand that I AM NOT A LICENSED MOTORCYCLE MECHANIC. I do not guarantee the safety or mechanical consequences of this action. It's just what I did to solve a problem of too much throttle for a new rider.

Please follow the link and click on the first pick in the series to start the step by step. I'm not a pro at this so take it for what it is. On that if you have some suggestions as to what would make it better please PM me and I'll look at your suggestions.

You should stop playing with bikes and get those baseboards installed.

Great idea for throttle limiting, though.

Most of it is crown, and i don't wanna.

Gee, wonder where the idea came from though

I have also seen it done by splitting the twist throtthle assemby and adding a square nut with a bolt in the channel that the grip rotates in. This effectively limits the amount of twist available in the throttle.
